Waiting on Wednesday: Romeo Redeemed by Stacey Jay

Cursed to live out eternity in his rotted corpse, Romeo, known for his ruthless, cutthroat ways, is given the chance to redeem himself by traveling back in time to save the life of Ariel Dragland. Unbeknownst to her, Ariel is important to both the evil Mercenaries and the love-promoting Ambassadors and holds the fate of the world in her hands. Romeo must win her heart and make her believe in love, turning her away from her darker potential before his work is discovered by the Mercenaries. While his seduction begins as yet another lie, it soon becomes his only truth. Romeo vows to protect Ariel from harm, and do whatever it takes to win her heart and soul. But when Ariel is led to believe his love is a deception, she becomes vulnerable to Mercenary manipulation, and her own inner darkness may ultimately rip them apart. (Good Reads)

Romeo Redeemed (Juliet Immortal #2)
THE SHAME
This is a "seriously embarrassing cover" edition of Waiting on Wednesday here at YAF and WS. WoW is a great weekly post hosted by Breaking the Spine, where we share what books are at the top of our to read lists. This week I am waiting on Romeo Redeemed, the sequel to Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay. In Juliet Immortal we find out that the most tragic love story ever told is a lie--  Juliet Capulet didn't take her own life. She was murdered by the person she trusted most, her new husband, Romeo Montague, a sacrifice made to ensure his own immortality. For the following 700 years, she fought Romeo to save the souls of true lovers. (and I mean FIGHT. Like fisticuffs everywhere. Butt-kicking Juliet, I liked you!).  This sequel follows Romeo and his last efforts to lift the curse he brought upon himself by betraying Juliet all those years ago.

BUT WHY DOES THE COVER HAVE TO LOOK LIKE THIS!?! It is a teeny-bopper version of From Here to Eternity. I will ONLY read this on my Nook.
At least they are in swimsuits. That is a better idea.

  1. Oh man, I saw the first one of these kicking around I and thought NO WAY because I hated Romeo and Juliet. But I never read a blurb til now. Where is my adding button for the TBR...

    1. I KNOW. I thought the same thing. But it was one of those late-nights what can I download immediately from the library moments. And when the book opened with R & J throwing punches and trying to kill each other, I was happily surprised (now that makes me sound like some fight-club person....but you get the idea!)

  2. Great pick!! But, (ha ha) I agree about the cover. Every time I see it I start singing "Summer-Lovin" picturing Danny and Sandy.

    Here's my TT :)

  3. Hahahahaha.... I want to read this one too and I'll be getting it on my kindle as well. :) It is kind of a silly cover... although, I kind of like the idea of making out fully clothed at the waterline... but I realize that is a TERRIBLE idea and would be the OPPOSITE of sexy.

  5. I obviously need to dust off Juliet Immortal from the stack that I have next to my bed, because the sequel sounds amazing. It is a bit off-putting that the cover is so sickeningly bad. Oh well. Love your blog, I'm an old follower. Please check out my WoW. Thanks!

  9. Hahaha, you crack me up, embarrassed over the cover. I didn't realize how much it looked like From Here to Eternity until you pointed it out. I kind of have mixed feelings over this one! I liked the first book (even though the ending was totally weird) but Romeo was so hideously unlikeable! I sort of don't care about him at all!

  10. I haven't heard of this book before so thanks for sharing! I wouldn't mind seeing Juliet kick Romeo's butt lol. And about that cover, well...her dress is melting into the waves so that's kinda cool right? Or not...it is a bit sea creature-ish now that I think about it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog :)
