Waiting on Wednesday: Stay Awhile by Alysia Gray Painter and other random thoughts

Stay Awhile: Wilfair Book 3My brain is having trouble turning back on after the holidays. As a result today's Waiting on Wednesday hosted by Breaking the Spine is a bit of a potpourri.

The list of books Young Adult Fiction and Whiskey Sours cannot wait to read grows continuously, but since yesterday's Top Ten Tuesday was dedicated to our most-anticipated 2013 reads, I will not beat a dead horse with WoW. Peruse our TTT below at your leisure.

For WoW this week, I would also like to make a plea to the book gods that we get a blurb for another book I am waiting on, Stay Awhile by Alysia Gray Painter. This is the third book in the Wilfair series (see my reviews of Wilfair and Redwoodian, which I particularly liked). The series gets better as it goes, and I am LITERALLY on the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment, but I cannot even get a summary. What's a girl to do?!

And last but not least, some funny reading jokes:

I told you my brain was scattered! Anywho, what are you "waiting on"?

  1. I totally repinned those ecards last night! Seriously! And I love waiting on books in a series you already love!

  2. I'm waiting on Pegasus II by Robin McKinley. She's one of my all-time favorite writers, so when I saw Pegasus at the library this summer I pounced on it. I thought it was a stand-alone book all the way until the very end, when it suddenly broke off in the middle of a crisis. Waiting until 2014 for the rest may kill me.

    1. I reallllly liked Sunshine by McKinley but have never read anything else by her. I will read Pegasus so that I can be prepared for the sequel, but maybe I will wait a bit closer to 2014 so I am not in agony. :-) Thanks for the suggestion Kristin.

    2. I liked Sunshine a lot, too, but it's a different style than many of her other books. My all-time favorites are The Hero and the Crown and The Blue Sword (set in the same world, hundreds of years apart). Both involve girls running around with swords doing magic they didn't realize they could do. These are the books I read for comfort whenever I get sick (and have been since I was thirteen, so they're pretty ragged). You should totally add them to your list. You've given me a ton of great suggestions, so I'm glad to return the favor!
